Portland Art & Cultural Center
Founded in year 2003, Portland Art & Cultural Center (PACC) is a subsidiary of Portland Chinese Times with a mission to promote Chinese culture through art and music.
PACC is a 501c non-profit organization. Since establishment, PACC has received support from the community. Throughout the years, a number of cultural activities have been brought to the public by the Center. In order to educate the next generation about various Chinese culture arts, PACC provides various classes including singing (Portland Chinese Children’s Choir), Chinese folk dance, Wushu, music instruments etc.. Most of our classes are held at PCC SE Center Campus every Saturday afternoon.
The most special group formed through the center is the Portland Chinese Children Choir. Purpose of the choir is to provide children an opportunity to learn music, using their voices to appreciate Chinese culture. Children do not need to know any Chinese to join this Choir. Charles Hui, the Conductor of the Choir, has over 20 years of Children’s Choir conducting experience. Mr. Hui has a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Hong Kong Baptist University. He has further his education here in Portland and received his Master’s degree in Church Music from Western Seminary.
